Unlike the original mouse, the bottom of the mechanical mouse does not have a sheet-shaped circular wheel that is perpendicular to each other, but instead uses a colloidal ball that can roll in four directions. When the ball is rolled, it will drive a pair of rotating shafts to be X-axis and Y-axis respectively. At the end of the shaft, there is a circular decoding wheel. The metal wheel is attached to the decoding wheel and is in direct contact with the brush. When the rotating shaft rotates, the metal conductive sheets and the brushes will be sequentially contacted, and two forms of turning on or off appear, the former corresponding to the binary number 1, and the latter corresponding to the binary number 0. Next, these binary signals are sent to a dedicated chip inside the mouse for resolution processing and generate corresponding coordinate change signals. As long as the mouse moves on the plane, the ball will drive the rotation of the shaft, thereby changing the on-off condition of the decoding wheel, generating a set of different coordinate offsets, which are reflected on the screen, that is, the cursor can follow the mouse. Move and move.
Compared with the original mouse, this mechanical mouse has greatly improved usability, improved sensitivity and accuracy, and low manufacturing cost, making it the first popular mouse product. However, due to its pure mechanical structure, the X-axis and Y-axis of the mouse and the small balls often adhere to some dust and other dirt, resulting in unsatisfactory positioning accuracy, and the frequent contact of the brush and the decoding wheel is more serious, directly Affects the service life of mechanical mice. After a period of popularity, it was replaced by a relatively inexpensive optomechanical mouse, the so-called mechanical mouse that is still very common on the market.
